Robert joined Döhle Yachts in 2021 and holds the Maritime Compliance Manager & DPA role, ensuring the safe, secure, and environmentally responsible operation of the Maritime Compliance fleet. Robert provides direction, guidance, advise, and oversight to both the staff and yachts.
Robert sailed as Master on board various ship types, before moving his career ashore in 2007, becoming a surveyor for various flag states, performing statutory annual safety inspections and audits. During his time with the Marshall Islands Registry, Robert became deeply involved in the development and implementation of the Commercial Yacht Code.
Robert decided to further his qualifications and experience as a surveyor by joining Bureau Veritas in 2014. He went on to become the U.K.’s Senior Surveyor, Lead Marine Management Systems Auditor, Lead Casualty Investigator and New Construction Surveyor.
Robert is a fully qualified and experienced ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001/14001 Lead Auditor and a qualified member of IRCA. He holds appropriate qualifications for Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer. Robert also proudly holds an MSc in Marine Casualty Investigations. When not at work, Robert will normally be found at his local Dorset beach.
