Pierre Balzan

In 1985, Pierre Balzan began his career in the maritime industry and in 1989 he set up his own business – Melita Power Diesel Ltd. Following through the success of MPD Ltd, under the form of Melita Marine Group, set up Melita Yacht Painters Ltd. In 2000 was awarded a concession to regenerate and manage Manoel Island Yacht Marina and 10 years later successfully completed preparations for the takeover of Mgarr Marina in Gozo. In 2014, the group purchased a new floating dock with 5,000 tonnes lifting capacity. In 2019, Pierre made the necessary arrangement with MTU for the Group to open a 3,000 square meter equipped workshop, stores and office base in Koropi, Athens in Greece with a team of 60 employees. And finally ,in 2021, took steps to expand the Group’s international reach and started operating in Cyprus, Spain and Libya.
