Pat joined Döhle Yachts in 2017 and is the Company Security Officer and Deputy Designated Person Ashore. Pat is also responsible for conducting ISM and ISPS audits and MLC inspections on board both commercial and private yachts. He has fostered strong relationships with both class societies and flag state administrations to ensure the safe and efficient operations of all managed yachts.
Prior to joining the Döhle Yachts, Pat had an engaging and rewarding 29-year career in the Royal Navy, in which he served during Gulf War I. He developed advanced skills in leadership, performance management and accurate planning, and had a pivotal role as an EU Forces Media Spokesperson within the 25-nation strong NATO and EU forces, based in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for which he was awarded an EU Commendation.
Upon leaving the military, Pat worked as the Group Port Control Manager in the Port of Liverpool, holding responsibility for the safety of navigation within the UK’s second largest port authority, and was instrumental in the collation and implementation of Control Room Standards and the scoping documents developed for the Port of Liverpool IMO Vessel Traffic Service to adapt to a Traffic Organisation Service.
Pat is a lapsed member of the Sons of the Desert and a is fervent supporter of Liverpool Football Club.
