With dual citizenship in Italy and partnerships spanning the Americas, EU and UAE, Gary brings a wealth of opportunities to the team and is excited to head up the Döhle Yachts USA office, expanding the wide range of support and services to the American market.
Gary’s maritime career officially began over 20 years ago, while working on commercial vessels in New York, building experience and sea time to become a captain, though he has been on and around the water his entire life.
Growing up on Long Island, between the rocky North Shore and sandy South Shore, set the stage for a life-long appreciation and affinity for the ocean. Gary graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Marine Science and Business Management, while also obtaining his USCG Captain’s License in 2005, which remains active today.
Following University, Gary moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL and continued to gain experience as a captain for the next 10 years while transitioning from commercial vessels to private yachts and, ultimately, into sales and marketing in the yachting and aviation industries. The last 10 years involved the continued growth of his sales career while creating and growing several bespoke consulting firms, specialising in maritime and development related projects including private equity and institutional fundraising, marina design and development, and project management.
Outside of work, Gary is a private pilot and enjoys his time in the air, as well as on the ocean for an early morning paddleboarding adventure.
