Dan Baker joined Döhle Yachts as Yacht Operations Manager in 2025. This is his first shoreside appointment, where he utilises his extensive practical knowledge of yacht operations to provide first-class management support. His onboard experience enables him to support all areas, including maintenance, refit/shipyard, logistics, supply, guest operations, and cruising areas.
Dan has enjoyed a career spanning more than 25 years in the superyacht industry, starting as a deckhand and rising through the ranks to Master yacht <3000gt. He has commanded yachts ranging from 50 to 80 metres, with both private and charter programmes. Throughout his career, he has worked with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, and members of the British royal family. Dan has extensive experience managing shipyard periods and preparing and executing high-end charters.
Outside of yachting, Dan enjoys playing golf and tennis. He is also a nature lover and enjoys hiking with his two dogs and daughter around the Dorset countryside. Dan has a passion for international cuisine and is a proficient cook, having picked up many tips from internationally acclaimed chefs during his years aboard yachts. When time allows, he enjoys literature of all kinds and always has his Kindle to hand. Recently, Dan completed a 12-week course in fine furniture making at the Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy to complement his existing woodworking skills and continues to create various pieces in his home workshop.
