Bernd Weel is a Dutch yacht designer and co-founder of Weel Sluijter, an Amsterdam-based studio focused on exterior design for large motor yachts. He began his career by launching his own studio, Bernd Weel Design, earning early acclaim for the redesign of the 92-metre Queen Miri. His portfolio includes award-winning projects like Lady Fleur, which won Best Exterior at the 2023 BOAT International World Superyacht Awards.
In 2024, Bernd partnered with Jim Sluijter to establish Weel Sluijter. The studio has quickly secured major contracts with Northern European shipyards, including an 80-metre-plus yacht now under construction. Bernd’s design approach blends expressive creativity with technical realism to create timeless, functional yachts.
