Ted McCumber began his yachting career in the 1980’s in San Diego, as a Captain on charter and private motor yachts and sailboats. He is currently the Managing Director at the Feadship America Inc.
With over 40 years of experience as a Captain and as a New-Build and Refit Project Manager, including work on no fewer than Five Feadships. Ted’s most memorable role was as Build and Warranty captain on the Feadship Savannah, which won the 2016 World Superyacht of the Year award. While Savannah was at FLIBS, he was asked to join the Feadship Team as Managing Director of Feadship America Office. If not running Feadships, this is the next best thing, so he agreed.
Ted joined the International Superyacht Society and has served on the Design Awards Committee. Ted is also on the U.S.S.A Board of Directors. He is the Winner of the ISS 2022 Business Person of the Year. For his charity work, Ted has been a contributor and fundraiser event organizer of the Forgotten Children’s Fund for years.
Now, based in Fort Lauderdale Ted is devoting his time, energy, and experience to Making Yachting Fun.
