Graeme Lord, the Founder and Chairman of Fairport, established the company in October 2011 to address a gap in the yachting industry for an independent yacht management firm. Currently, Fairport manages a fleet of over 100 yachts and 700 crew worldwide providing services in financial management, crew administration, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Born and educated in Rhodesia with a focus on engineering, Graeme’s technical expertise and esteemed reputation as a chief engineer naturally led him to a career in yacht management. With over 30 years in yachting, Graeme has built a solid reputation for his integrity and extensive knowledge of the industry. His expertise spans ISM, crew administration, financial planning, maintenance, and shipyard planning. Graeme holds several influential positions, including Chairman of the Cayman Islands Shipowners Advisory Council, a board member of the Yacht Committee of the Marine Industry Association of South Florida, and a member of the United States Coast Guard steering committee. He is also involved with the U.S. Superyacht Association and has spoken at prominent events such as the Superyacht Forum, the International Yacht Brokers Association, and various global yacht conferences. In 2019, Graeme founded Professional Yacht Crew, a yacht crew leasing company based in the Cayman Islands. Since 2022, Graeme provides consulting services on various industry projects and acts as an expert witness to maritime law firms. In 2024, after merging Fairport Global with IGY marinas, and subsequently having both Fairport and IGY acquired by Marine Max Graeme’s sole focus is on building Professional Yacht Crew into a comprehensive crew HR solution for the yachting industry.
