The prestigious International Superyacht Society’s Design and Leadership Awards were created in 1990 to call attention to the outstanding achievements in the design and construction of large yachts.

The Awards
ISS Yacht Design and Awards of Distinction
Yachts to be nominated by Yacht Builders, Designers & Refit Yards only.
Eligible sailing and motor vessels must be custom-built, the first in a production series, and 24 meters (79ft+) and up.
Following an industry trend and in response to strong interest from our members, the committee has also elected to allow submission of eligible series-built vessels launched and delivered in 2025.
To register, appoint one dedicated person to be the vessel administrator and create an account here. Each vessel administrator must obtain written permission from the yacht owner to participate in the awards process.
Vessels for the 2026 Design Awards must be completed, launched and delivered between January 2025 through December 2025.

Awards of Distinction
Artisan Award
sponsored by
Nominations by the yachting industry; selection is made by a panel of judges.
Artisans are found in all aspects of yacht construction: holding a welding torch or a chisel, working with needle and thread or precious materials. Their work may be permanently on display in the finished vessel, or out of sight, reliably delivering the high performance we have all come to expect.
Distinguished Crew Award

Nominations by the yachting industry; selection is made by a panel of judges.
Recognizes yacht crew whose distinguished acts of service best exemplify the standards to which professional yacht crew aspire within the previous year.
Excellence in Improving Yachting
sponsored by
Celebrating Active Stewardship of Marine Ecosystems—Nominations by owners and yachting industry; selection is made by a panel of judges.
We believe the future of luxury yachting is in the integration of resource management with the goal of setting achievable and sustainable standards to foster the conservation and protection of resources. This award seeks to recognize an individual or group working for our future to improve our build standards to conserve, rejuvenate and retain our blue waters. The award celebrates those who allocate our precious resources, plan, and make a difference with the goal of bringing back a healthy planet so future generations have the capability to sail our oceans with consciousness for centuries to come.
Leadership Award

Nominations by the ISS Board of Directors; winner is selected by the previous Leadership Awards winners committee.
This Award honors an individual (or company) whose distinctive work and commitment to the industry has contributed to the growth of the superyacht community worldwide over the years. The Leadership Award is chosen by the Previous Award Recipients to honor a new award recipient to this distinctive group of Esteemed Industry Individuals.
Excellence in Technology Award

Nominations by the yachting industry; selection is made by a panel of judges.
Open to every aspect of the application of technology to enhance yachts—with an emphasis on innovation and ingenuity—the Excellence in Technology award is given to a company that has demonstrated the successful application of new or enhanced intelligent design, use of materials, machinery or systems to advance the state-of-the-art of yachting.
ISS requests that nominations for “Awards of Distinction” be made prior to August 2026.
Those nominating are requested to complete and submit the form below. Once received, the nomination will be forwarded to the appropriate committee to review.
FAQ
Is there a fee required to participate?
No, there is no registration fee required to participate in the awards.
Will the vessel information and photos be visible to the public?
No. The vessel administrator will need to complete an online portfolio, which will be uploaded to a private section on the ISS website that is exclusively dedicated to voting and judging. This private section ensures that the vessel information and photos are not visible to the public at any time. If the vessel is a winner, then a 30 second video or photos will be needed for the awards presentation at the Gala.
What if the vessel becomes a winner?
If the vessel is selected as a finalist or a winner, only the photos that were approved will be made visible to the public.
Do you need to be an ISS member to nominate a vessel?
No.
Who can participate?
Builders and/or designers should dedicate one person as the vessel administrator and create an account or login here.
What vessels are eligible?
All custom yachts, first hull of a series or refit projects launched and delivered between January and December 31, 2025, are eligible. To learn more info on the tonnage categories, click here.
For refit projects, a substantial refit must be completed to be eligible for the awards.
How many vessels can a builder or designer submit for consideration?
Builders or designers can submit multiple vessels for consideration. There is no limit to the number of vessels that can be registered.
What is required to register a vessel?
The portfolio should include a description of the vessel’s distinctive features and the reasons why it is exceptional compared to other yachts in terms of design, practicality, performance, and craftsmanship. Additionally, any new advancements in yacht design, such as environmental innovations or noteworthy inventions, should be highlighted. The portfolio must include an image gallery of the vessel that showcases specific areas, such as the exterior, interior, and technologically advanced special features.
How are the vessels judged?
The ISS awards are peer-reviewed. A panel of twelve industry professionals will judge the vessels. You can view the current judges here.
Will the finalists be notified prior to the award ceremony?
The finalists will annouced during our Monaco Yacht Show Reception.
The Reception will be held at the Yacht Club de Monaco at the pool deck, a wonderful setting that brings together ISS members, industry leaders, and this year’s finalists for an evening of connection ahead of the Awards Gala in Fort Lauderdale in October.
The finalists will be requested to submit additional materials for the awards ceremony.
When will the awards be presented?
The award ceremony will take place at Broward Center for Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale in October.
Who needs to be present at the awards?
All finalists are advised to have a representative present at the gala to accept the award if they are announced as the winner.
