The ISS (International Superyacht Society) is pleased to announce that following a decade of success in organizing and presenting superyacht industry educational seminars during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the Society is presenting YachtInfo outside the USA in Europe at the 2012 Antibes Yacht Show (AYS). As the AYS celebrates its fifth anniversary, ISS is joining forces with the Show’s organisers as well as PYA (Professional Yachtsmen’s Association) and MYBA (the Worldwide Yachting Association) to host a series of seminars on 13 April 2012.

The ISS (International Superyacht Society) announces its 2012-2015 Board of Directors and Past Presidents Council. ISS elections are held annually by peer selection. During 2011, ISS membership ratified changes to the Association’s Bylaws which now state that a total of 24 elected Board members will serve three-year terms.

If the New Year fills us with optimism, it is likely to be tempered by the clear understanding that in the current economic climate, growth in our industry may be localised. To prevent optimism from being fleeting, as an industry, we must take action. We will be most successful if we can get more business value from our current activities and collaborate as an industry to compete strongly for a greater share of the leisure expenditure of High and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI/UHNWI).

Members as you know, during 2011 ISS membership ratified changes to the association's Bylaws which now state that a total of 24 elected Board members will serve three-year terms. During the 2012-2014 election cycles we will be in transition. This means that in this election, we will award eight (8) Board positions for three years to those with the highest number of membership votes; we will ask the next four (4) highest vote recipients to stand for one-year terms and to re-stand next year if they choose.
